Incubator of dreams

  • The Point Labs is on a mission to provide services to innovative partners based on trans-disciplinary expertise in metaverse, immersive and emerging technologies.

The Point Labs was founded by Denisa Osacenco and Timmy Ghiurãu in 2021, at the point of intersection between their dreams to change the future.

Our team draws on unmatched expertise in mixed reality, game design, architecture, fashion, immersive design, engineering, art, and research to create outcomes within a powerful development platform.

The development of the structure and experiences emerge from a collaborative partnership between us and our clients, to turn innovative ideas into reality

  • Built by dreamers for dreamers. We believe that a dream comes with alot of activity, and discipline but in the same time by playing, exploring as the purest form of creativity and it is this belief that drives us to explore freely.

We use our imagination to go beyond the expected.

With powerful design tools such as world building, used in film and game industry, we foster a playful, experimental approach to turn complex issues into clear, engaging visions, dealing with uncertainty.

We make it simple, we make it immersive and we make it relevant. This allows people to imagine the possibilities of what we could achieve together.

With our Venture studio branch, we incubate startups and invest in early stages as well as advising innovative businesses to create market value from experimental and edge research projects, efficient integrations and processes, and build and lead teams of creative professionals.

We bridge the gap for companies and organizations looking to transition from e-commerce and web 2.0 to the metaverse.

For investors, we offer strategic advisory and analysis, as well as partnerships that engage portfolio companies for mentorship, training, and hands-on support.

In addition to our work with businesses, we also consult with educational and research institutions to create new initiatives.

We have extensive experience in creating and teaching university-level courses on metaverse, 3D design, architecture, innovation methods, entrepreneurship, and design curriculums for bachelor and masters .

At The Point Labs, we are committed to creating change by building the future, one prototype at a time.

About the team

Denisa Osacenco

Metaverse architect, concept designer, VR developer and Co-founder of THE POINT LABS.

She graduated with a BA(Hons) in Architecture at Birmingham City University, England in 2019. After a journey of development and collaboration with architects, engineers and artists, she moved and established herself as lead architectural design and visualisation in Upper Austria at Akzent immobilien.

In the couple years spent in Austria, leading the department, she dived into the complexity of the 3D space and virtual reality to augment this side of the industry from an architectural point of view. Therefore, building her experience in 3D softwares and real-time render engines to be able to create a new work angle for an architectural designer.

Denisa is disrupting the conservative architecture and construction engineering industry by combining multiple tools to achieve efficiency, quality, and high immersion, enabling clients to make fast changes and iterations.

Creative, determined and skilful since a teenager, with a passion for freehand architectural drawing and (hand) technical drafting, she developed in the years to come a particular interest in design that combines the traditional architectural principles with art, tech and science.

Her portfolio includes diverse traditional and virtual architectural projects for corporate clients and academia, as well as art related work.

At the moment Denisa is focusing on defining what metaverse architecture can be and how to translate from well established architecture design ethics into this platform with the aid of Artificial Intelligence and sustainability as a main criteria to the project

Her focal point is to enable and bring together creators and dreamers in one place to generate the space of tomorrow. Everything being set within an ethical realm and development from human centric perspective to planetary level.

Timmy Ghiurãu

Timmy Ghiurau is the co-founder of THE POINT LABS, bringing a unique blend of innovation and creativity to the table.

Timmy has a background in leading Volvo Cars innovation initiatives around virtual and augmented reality, and works with virtual simulations, eye tracking, and Virtual Reality (VR) as enablers for self- driving cars and user experience research.

Timmy studied Innovative Technologies and Entrepreneurship as Bachelor and Masers at Aalborg University in Copenhagen, with interest in game engines, virtual reality, startups and investments. There he met the founders of Unity, as well as joining the eye tracking startup: The Eye Tribe, that was later acquired by Meta.

Though he wouldn’t call himself a car person, Timmy quickly fell in love with the automotive industry as a master’s thesis student at Volvo’s Copenhagen office in 2014. It wasn’t just because he felt that Volvo tried to redefine mobility and push for innovation, safety and sustainability – he also resonated with the development of a product that will be multiplied and accessible to millions of users. Timmy comes from Transylvania in Romania and moved to Copenhagen to study.

Timmy is a creative technologist who has been active in the worlds of music, fashion, media production, photography, etc. His present focus is on ‘futurist’ thinking, innovation management, and building, leading, and investing in teams that bring creative and engineering forces together.

Timmy was part of formulating the Open Innovation Arena, an incubator of dreams,
a place where innovators, creatives, and technologists are coming together to paint the future Volvo Cars would like to live in. With numerous patents, innovation, and creative awards, he passes on the expertise to new generations by leading collaborations with partners, students, and people across the company, where ideas are born, and visions are drafted. A place to ask questions, and deal with the unknown. After he wanted to find new ways of enabling innovation in large organisations, and public institutions, and he pursued Innovation Management courses at MIT, as well as offering guest lectures, and mentoring around emerging technologies.

Still a creative at heart, Timmy is playing guitar with various bands and records in different studios. When time allows, he works as Creative Director with various avantgarde fashion designers from Copenhagen. In the spare time, Timmy likes to talk about visions, purpose and dreams. Sharing dreams, scenarios and latest tech rumours with his friends and colleagues. Timmy advises start-ups, students and companies, and likes to travel and talk at various conferences, meeting like-minded people, foster communities.
